Question 6.  Is there an engineering fee to resurrect an obsolete part number/product?
A. Yes.  Fees will vary depending upon the part number/product.  Typically, a part number that has been deemed “obsolete” has been removed from our standard product offerings due to reduction in customer request and/or manufacturing feasibility.

Question  7.  What is the warranty policy on your products?
A. Our standard product warranty policy is one (1) year from date of shipment.  Please reference the “Warranty” section on page two of our Terms and Conditions of Sale document.

Question  8.  Is my product still under warranty?
A. The date code is located on the timer or motor label.  Please reference the Manufacturer Date Code chart below for letter/month correlation.

Not sure – not a problem!  An Inside Sales Specialist will be happy to assist you.  Please contact us by phone: 860.291.8402; fax: 860.610.09897; or email: customer-service@mhrhodes.com.  If you are calling within the US or Canada, use our toll free number:  877.684.6464.

Question  9.  Are your products NEMA rated?
A. NEMA ratings are “manufacturer determined” based on design and testing.  Currently, the products we offer are Cramer AC and DC Hour Meters; models 635, 636, 637 and 638.

When not installed, models 635 and 636 are rated as a NEMA 1 enclosure type; safe for handling and keeping dirt out.  Though completely safe from electrical contact, are not watertight.  However, when models 635 and 636 are installed into a panel of an enclosure, the front bezel of the hour meter would provide NEMA 5 protection for that enclosure.  This means the bezel would be dust-tight and drip-tight for the inside of the enclosure.

Models 637 and 638 are 100% sealed, waterproof, tamper proof and are NEMA 4X and NEMA 12 rated.

Question  10.  Which products are UL/cUL/CE approved & RoHS compliant?
A. Only certain products require these approvals.  Please reference the UL/cUL/CE Product Chart below or click on the “Product Data” tab located on each products web page.  The “Features” side of the chart will provide approval listings for that specific product.

Question  What does the optional “HOLD” feature mean and which products have it?
A. The optional “HOLD” feature, found on the 24, 70 and 93 Series timers, means these products have “Manual Override” capabilities.  When the manual override is used, the timer does not automatically count down to turn off.

Question  Can the 42E-series fan/light timer be used in a three-way circuit?
A. The 42E Series fan/light timers are UL certified for use only in a two-way circuit.  A PDF copy of the specific 42E installation instructions with wiring diagram can be found on the Product Literature page.

Question  Can the 42-series timer be used with fluorescent lighting?
A. The 42 Series time switch is not rated to control fluorescent lighting.

However, the 42E02 fan/light time switch recently received UL/cUL approval for use to control fluorescent lighting with electrical ratings of up to 200VA-120VAC (electronic ballast).

Question  Is the 88 Series timer operational instruction manual available on the web site?
A. Yes!  It can be found on the “Literature” page or download the PDF version here:  88 Series Instruction Manual.

Question  What is the alternative to the 90 Series time switch?
A. The alternate is our 93 Series time switch.  The 93-series time switch comes complete with white and ivory dials and knobs.  (Switch/trim plates are not included.) The 93-series timers do not come with an oversized plate. This product brochure is available on the “Literature” page in PDF format.

Question  Is the 90 Series wall plate compatible with the 93 Series time switch?
A. No, they are not compatible. The 90 Series wall plates were cut “off-center” and the 93 Series plates are cut “on-center.”

Question  What are the differences between the 90 and 93 Series time switches?
A. Both time switches are essentially the same except for the few differences listed below.  They belong to the same UL file listing and are subject to the required regular testing.

  • Identical ratings; except the C93 is also rated for 1 HP-250 VAC.
  • The C93 is DPST with one (1) normally open and (1) normally closed circuit.  Use Load 1/Line 1 (N.O.) circuit for identical operation to the 90 Series
  • The C93 wiring is from the side as opposed to the back on the 90 Series
  • The C93 knob shaft is centered as opposed to off-center on the 90 Series
  • The overall depth of the C93 is ~1.21 inches and the 90 Series is ~1.85 inches
  • The C93 has a 310 degree wind as opposed to 360 degree wind on the 90 Series

Question  Do you still carry the MarkTime® 98 Series timer?
A. No, the 98 Series timer has been discontinued.  However, we do offer replacement timers depending upon the application.
